Finished yesterday 2 buys ins up and today 1 buy in up and cleared 2 or the 3 deposit bonuses.

Still under the weather tonight so didnt start till 9pm and finised about 12 20 getting 500vpps. Struggled to get tables opened there was only 1 open when i started with 5 on waiting list. As soon as 3 or 4 players sat in the tables soon filled up. I feel at this rate i can make the 7500 vpps a month with intrest while keeping the game as a hobby and not a job.

If possbile i am going to use the Fpps i gather for this to buy into the DTD leg of the UKIPT.

Oh yeah question for all you Pros, do you stick to the 20 buy in rule in a split game or do you need 30+.

also noticed that there isnt much room for advancement in PLO8 have only seen 1 FR 1/2 game on stars in the past few days. So it looks like there isnt much call for PLO8 at bigger levels unless i get rolled for the bigger games and the sharks come running.

limit or pot limit?

Dispite suffering from manflu i played a little 50/1 PLO8 today to see if i can earn enough Vpps without increasing my hours to keep supernova for a few months. I tried 25/50c but the tables were so tight that only about 1/3rd of pots saw a flop to pay any rake and then only when it was monster vrs monster was there any pots worth any note.
Moved upto 50/1 and suddenly everyone loosened up, this was better pots were worth winning and playing 3 tables (all that was open) i racked up the 100vpps and hour i would need if i wanted to keep supernova.
Having played mainly limit cash for the past 8 months the switch back to PLO8 seems strange, took on and lost a few too many flips i think. first 6 in pots over 100$ i lost but was only 200$ by the time i got it in with oppo drawing to runner runner for a 198$ pot and got back to 100$ down.
The snow is going to help me this month as i have no plans to go anywhere till the thaw even the pub is getting the cold shoulder. So over the next 2 weeks i need to put in around 5 hours a day to achieve my goal.
With the stella rewards and the reload bonus it also gives small targets on the way, already claimed first stella bonus and just an hour away from getting the first of the 3 reload bonuses (split them into 3 $200 deposits seemed more senisible incase i need to go on bedrest or get called into hospital any time soon).

3 months bedrest is over

3 months of bedrest is over hopefully, although i might have to go back.
had planned on spending 2010 in keeping supernova on stars which had proved
rewarding with the freerolls. but not sure i will be able to put in the hours under the new system of collecting vpps meaning i would need to play 200 hours instead of 100 hours a month, i might go back to playing plo8 cash instead of limit and see if this will reduce the time needed as i dont want to be turning this into a full time job.

take that last post double it and add some more

PokerStars Tournament #191866080, No Limit Hold'em
Freeroll
1842 players
$75000.00 USD added to the prize pool by PokerStars
Total Prize Pool: $75000.00 USD
Tournament started 2009/09/19 19:00:00 WET [2009/09/19 14:00:00 ET]

Dear Ironside,

You finished the tournament in 1st place. The high orbit needs 100 sngs to count so i am about 4-5 hours away from completing the block. If i break even over the next 20 stts i will score 225 pts which would have given 20th spot in the table for last week and a few bucks, if i score as well as i have down for the first 80 events then i will get enough points to get into the top 10 last week and a place in the 50k freeroll aswell as a few bucks, i would need a sick run in the last 20 games to get near the top as someone has just posted a score near the 1800 mark which would require me getting a score in the top 5 low orbit to get close to it.

so tonight i will be playing 20 stt PLO8 6.5$ games 4 tabling, come along and watch me tilt as i fail to score a single point in the first 16 before throwing the laptop out the window at nextdoors cat.

thank you shreddies

thanks flushy and the sheddies and everyone else that has been responding to my posts on the PHA board of blondepoker. amazing how a small thing like reducing bet size works, have run much better in the past few days including my first ever FT in a 180 man SNG. Having stopped playing NLHE for many months after going on a bad run, every time i tried to get gong again i just couldnt. Yet reducing my bet sizes has allowed me to get paid when i have hands more often and is also allowing me to steal more pots c bet and 3 bet without getting commited, on saturday i manged to cash in 3 out of the 5 NLHE comps i play. First 2 i cashed in went out with good stacks to under pairs to my jacks. And the 3rd comp went out 21st of 5000+ when i took on KK with my JJ, i could of should of gotten away from the JJ but was looking to get massive chips quick to allow me dominate more a table i was already playing with ease. Sundays million dollar turbo got me a cash without the usual sweat near the bubble was looking to build a real stack during the middle stages as the ladder jumps were so shallow, unfortunatly ran into kings. But if i can build on the new lease of life and the new knowledge i have learnt in past few weeks a big pay day is only a couple of years away.

sorry for the delay

WSOPE PLO

The build up to the wsope started with the blonde bash in Luton, this was meant flying from Inverness on the Friday getting my head bashed up by Laxie throwing me out my chair, getting drunk playing my usual bad poker, losing in the footy, my team letting me down in the HU, flying back to Inverness on the Monday, then driving all the way to Aberdeen to hand a short to John Taylor so he could get an International badge sewn on it. Getting home around 2 am, was a little tired but a full nights sleep in my own bed sorted me out.
Next day it was a drive through to Aberdeen to meet John and getting my shirt back, then onto the flight, to the hotel and to the casino, was going to buy myself in but the transfer from Indy to my bank hadn’t cleared, so had a look around and went back for an early night as I had an early start in the morning.
Got up early for a taxi to sky poker for an interview, sky had organised this for me. Checked my bank money hadn’t cleared so took some out of my savings to cover the difference, waited outside for the taxi but it still hadn’t arrived 30 minutes after they phoned to let me know it was on the way. Got another automated call letting me know it was waiting for me, lings phone was off so phoned tikay to see if he could find out where the taxi was, then I got a call from the taxi operator asking me where I was I told them at the hotel where I was supposed to be, taxi was waiting for me at Euston. Finally got to sky and the make up artist caked me in make up (didn’t help) then I was taking to the studio for the interview. Having a chat with Matt and Dan when everyone leaves, started wondering where they had all gone when the guys let me know we are about to start!!!!!! WTF!!!!! Where are the cameramen the directors the boy with the clapper etc. Had no idea what they were going to ask or how long the interview was for my preparation was unbeatable as usual, bluffed my way through the interview. Jump in a taxi which takes me too casino. An hour in the taxi while starving and feeling queasy wasn’t the best plus the fact he had never heard of the empire casino, FFS I though these cabbies had to know the whole city. Get to the empire and buy myself in, by now the money sent by Indy had arrived so wasted £25 transferring from my long term savings, and also noticed a branch of my bank round the corner so I could of waited till the last minute (I run good as long as its downhill).
Order some food which doesn’t arrive until after the poker starts (not a good start as I hate eating while playing. My starting table could have been better having Nick Gibson , Roy Brindley, Paul Jackson, Mick McCool, Jerome something or other some young American who seemingly did well in a WPT or WSOP event and a few other players whom everyone knew, infact I was the only unknown at the table and felt like everyone was saying who the F is this sat with us.
They table was joined late by David Benjamin whom I recognised but couldn’t put a name to him and made a fool of myself when I worked out who he was by saying that the reason I didn’t recognise him to start with was cause I thought he was French. FML just FML. Managed to get all in once pre with DS aces via the young American whom also had double suited aces, only other hand of nore I played was when I had Kkxx in the big blind and saw a flop of 9TK, I check called Roy’s flop bet and checked down on the 7 turn and 5 river , didn’t put roy on the QJ when he checked the turn but I wasn’t going to fire the river to fold anyway he 8645 had gotten the on the turn.
Managed to get David into karoke poker for about 5 minutes but he gave that up after he lost a massive pot when he tried to isolate the young American who he thought was short stacked but had taken his 2nd chance and the chip look very much like a 25tc it was only after Nick Gibson asked for a count that both of them realised he wasn’t short Nick folded but David was into deep. I managed to take Nicks shortish stack before he took his 2nd chance with top 2 via bottom pair with some addition outs. But he admitted he was just trying to get lucky, I was sitting nice with about 16-18k at the time when I lost half my stack when I flopped the nut flush and got called to the river which paired the board and I faced an all in. I managed to get away from the hand with just over 8k.
I got moved tables and found myself again on Mick McCool’s table along with Robert Williamson III, everyone seemed to know everyone else but didn’t take me long to get Robert playing karaoke poker, was totally card and position dead but I tried not to panic. Robert was the table boss but didn’t have that many chips more than me. Saw a flop with top two and the 2nd nut flush draw and a opened straight draw I lead out, thinking everyone had folded I wanted to re-enforce my image of a total nit out of my depth so turned my cards face up, FML if player 2 too my left had called but I hadn’t seen him, a ruling was called for and I was no longer allowed to bet but could call, having seen my hand the other player said he would turn his hand over too and we would check it down as he only had the flush draw. My hand stood up (think it was my last ever hand in my poker life to hold). With an hour to go I was feeling very tired and just wasn’t getting anything or any position to play took a quick 5 minute break and was thinking of retiring for the evening worked out I would still have 10k left in the morning if I did, with the blinds going up and the average about 80k I thought I better try and get a double up first. While I was on the break a certain famous WSOP champion by the name of Ferguson was moved to my right. So I introduced myself and tried to engage him in a little chit chat to keep myself awake.
The exit wasn’t pretty and wasn’t clever I really needed a double up and there was 45 minutes of the day to get it. I was on the button with QT96. Robert opened up as usual and its folded to me now this wasn’t the best hand in the world but it was 3000% better than the rags I had been getting and if I could hit a flop a chance to get the chips I needed. Flop came down QT7 rainbow Robert checked I bet out the pot. 6 on turn gave me 3 pair but Robert moves all in FML over half my stack was in there and possibly the best PLO player in the world has put me all in. I tank for a what seemed like 2 hours but was more like 20-30 seconds a few of the bloggers came to the table as this hand would cripple Robert if he lost it.
I called he turned over KKKJ yes that’s right 3 kings in his hand. All I hear is well I have outs and as the case king hits the river he says that’s one of them. And that was my wsope over.

Rest of the trip report to be posted soon

time to catch up with my trip report

i'll start off with the tv interview with skypokers "the club"

poker stars blogging championships

I have registered to play in the PokerStars World Blogger Championship of Online Poker!

This PokerStars I manged to take the comp down for my first win in the pub league dispte geting called by AK when i pushed all in with A7 with just 4 players left catching a 7. It seemed that everything was going right for a change. Wednessday was the £10 rebuy in the nash and i was expecting things to change. I kept getting cards and winning races when my chips werent in danger, getting the bookie all in (for less than half my stack) with QJ on a 49T flop unfortunately for me i wasnt aslive as i hoped when he turned over the QT, the 8 on the river help send George to the cash game though, Davie the Clam had come to my table with a monster stack but i was happy as i had postion on him and an equally huge stack i called his EP raise with 33 when he checked the AJx flop i bet out out he folded his QQ face up i showed my 33. On the final table i had a huge stack and we got down to 3 players quickly. I wasnt keen on a deal with the clam on the table i knew it would be between me and the 3rd player till we got heads up. unfortunately he got a few chips off me then i doubled him up when he limped UTG/button i had QQ so made it 12k more with the blinds at 2/4k on a 235 rainbow board i checked to reraise him but he moved all in with his A5 (92k) i of course called and the 4 on the turn ended my rush. i still had 60k+ and took down a couple of small pots and then busted when i rivered the nut straight and pushed for the clam to call after rivering the nut flush (checked it on flop and turn with his draw).

THE RUSH ENDS

Saturday was a £25 freezout organised by the guy who runs the local nbuts poker league games, i took totally control of the game from the first hand showing my bluff after getting called preflop on the flop and on the turn, the guy involved wasnt prepared to call the river bet, now i got players where i wanted them lacking experiance they were soon open raising for all there chips. Some of the regulars were complaining that the standard was so poor they had no chance and that thy prefered to go home han play on. I loved the poor standard of play was making moves left right and centre while still getting paid on my big hands. At one stage i had more chips than the rest of my table put together. Willie who runs the league got crippled and pushed in for about 5 bbs i was in cut off and could tell the blinds and button was going to let it pass. it was less than 10% of my stack i called blind and my 93o took out his QJo. We break for the final and i knew 2 reasonable good players were on the final Alan who is a bit of a rock and a steady player who was a regular at the nash and Daz whom i had iven a lift through from Elgin. They had warned me about a young guy who was on the other table whom they thought was a good player. I was sat inbetween Alan and Daz with the young boy on Daz's right. It soonbecame obvious that the young boy wasnt that good but was very aggressive but would mix it up but couldnt lay down hands or draws. There was a drunken idiot who had been at the football earlier at the other end of table and he was changing the dynamics. He wanted a lift back up the round living 9 miles from me i told him he could get a lift if he was still around at closing (he was kicked out well before then).
I was using my chips well and maintaining a healthy stack when the rush ended as suddenly as it arrived. I got the young boy in with his Q8 v my AJ, He hit. Then got the drunk in with KT v his AJ on a 45T flop,he hit. suddenly i am down to 7k with the blinds at 600/1200. I managed to get upto 9k made a stop and go against the young boy and got back in the game. Sat with 22k i got Jacks in EP, my raise was called by the big stack, and reraised by the young boy (34k) i called and the big stack layed down. My hand looked good when he turned over his 7s but a 7 on the flop and i was out. Daz and Alan went onto chop the top 2 spots.

The Start of a Rush

The Rush of Form

Suddendly in poker you can go from bad beat hell into a complete rush and this happened for me on Saturday, i hadnt played the cash on the Friday to keep myself fresh for the £100 single rebuy event. I heard the tank was back in town and offered to stake him into the event as he is going back to college and wasnt bankrolled for the game. It all started so badly a few unknowns on the table all trying to bluff me off pots with all in moves i was down to 2500 of the 5k starting stack early and i took the rebuy. It continued and i lost anotehr few pots and was down to about 3.5k then i won a few small pots got upto around 6k and a hand went off where i made 2 pair, a 4th heart came on river so with no heart in my hand i wanted to check it down, the guy on my left was having none of it and bet out a call would leave me with 1200, i was about to fold when i got him to speak, not sure what it was but he gave the game away and i was 90% certain i was ahead i called and he urned over a bluff. i got bluffed off a big pot when a guy moved all in on a 3 diamond board with me holding no diamond and just top pair top kicker he turned over 73o with no diamond. I had chips now and could bide my time knowing chips were on offer. I got creative with A7o in the cut-off with a coupld of limpers before me no-one folded but was pleased to see the A75 rainbow flop, its checked to me last to act so i put in a raise just under pot size and get reraised ALL in by the 73o guy who had twice my chips with his rebuy still intact. I snap call and he is happy with his A5 untill i turn my top 2 over no 5 on turn or river and i get a nice double up putting me well over average at the break. Now i tighten up and get a couple of gifts with people calling and reraise me with weak aces while i am holding bigger aces or big pairs and i am sitting at 35-40k when davie the rock comes to the table with his 47k stack. Now i wanted those chips but knew i would need the jaws of life to get them but new i could steal themon flops. I get moved to another table soon after and get moved to The Tanks right with TheAdmiral and redfox on the the table i knew i was getting no gifts. I river the nut straight in the SB vrs TheAdmiral and the tank but my check is met by a check from Les and a fold from thomas who didnt want to show what he raised the turn with. I bully a few shorter stacks off pots including one guy with the nut flush draw a side straight draw and an over to the board with one card to come when i called his flop bet with air and bet out on turn showing a few bluffs to liven the table up.
Tank loses a few chips and gets into push/fold mode and when its folded round to him in SB he pushes i wake up with my infamous AK and call nothing hits for thomas and i take out my horse. Last hand before the 2nd break i took Les of a KK89 board after he dwelled for 5 minutes with both of us having big stacks and 25k+ in the middle i got him to fold to my rerereaise on the turn after calling his flop bet.
I make the final with about 3rd in chips. 2 young ladies were on the table and they were tighter than davie the rock, one was on her first live game and when she pushed everyone folded, the other lacks aggression but was able to keep afloat by hitting flops and going all in including once when she had KK on a K high board with no draws out there. My stack goes up and down like a yoyo and Andy one of the best players i have ever come accross decides he is table captain and totally out classed me. I lose alot of chips when i check top pair on the flop to allow the sb to catch 2 pair with his 82 on the turn. I win a good pot with 99 in blind when blinds was 1/2k when its raised to 6k preflop andy calls i push in for 12.5k total the orginal raiser folds andy calls turning over KJo my 9s hold i am back in game. I lose a few more chips and get KK in BB Alica who was playing tight limps in graham whom i doubled up when his 82o hit 2 pair raises to 6k James pushes all in for not much more i move in Alica calls and graham folds i was facing AJ from Alica and A8 from James i avoid the bullets and get a healthly stack now. The other lady at the table gets knocks out with 88 v grahams QQ and we are on the bubble. When graham tries to steal Andys BB from SB he gets put out on bubble when andy woke up with AK.
Player left was Andy(100k) Tony(120k) myself(60k) and Walza(45K), tony was impssible to play as you needed to hit against him as he wasnt laying anything down, Andy was out calling me, and Walza wasnt playing, so with only 45 minutes to a chip count i asked the big stacks if they were up for a deal looking for a 2k2k1k1k split but Walza refused saying he wasnt up for it as he puts £300 bets on horses. I laydown a few weak aces in my blind to raises and didnt get much else, i was preserving my stack but not much else, i lose about 15k over a few hands and thenthe demise came. Andy doubles the blind from the buttom i see 78o in the BB smelling weakness i was thinking of pushing but decided on a stop and go instead. I flopped middle pair and changed my mind and went for the old check raise, but he had flopped top pair with his Q6 and wasnt about to let go and i was shown the exit door, 30 mins before the count. I left a little disapointed but thought i had played most of the event well.

Monday £20 Rebuy

The blinds start at 100/200 with a 2000 starting stack and with 35 runners a prizepool of around 4.5k is the normal, UTG raises it up to 700 and i am next to act and have AJs this is too good a hand to fold in this game so put the 2k in and get my first rebuy ready i get called by 3rd UTG and its folded to UTG who puts all her chips in. My AJ was in good shape vrs AT (orginal raiser) and A8s by 3rd UTG, the hand held and the players are miffed at me getting chips early. I get a few more hands and go up and down but every time i get to about 5k i win the pot and keep in good shape, i finish the rebuy period with 20k with no rebuy . With only 2.6k in the pot i decide against a top up. I cruise to the final without many big hands taking out george on the way when holding QJ on a T94 flop i get him all in with his QT i was counting on the queen for an out but manged to hit an 8 to send him to the cash. Derek the mad gambler who gets bored when he cant rebuy any more, stands up and pushes with QTs i am in the bb and refuse to put 25% of my stack in with K7o. Very next hand he gets AA and does the same i now want the game to resume normall make a stupid call with 22. We get to the final and i have a nice stack but i have Derek on my left and a solid player from Dundee on my right, and Andy in the BB on my cutoff, i make a raise to 6k with blinds at 1/2 with 55 get reraised by andy i am about to insta fold when i notice he hasnt much back its another 8k to me and make the call but he woke up with kings and i double up the wrong guy, the game proceeds and derek is on fire taking out AQ with T5 charlie on my right with A9 v KK and a few other plays.
We get 4 handed and i open up deal talks then close then just as quick when Rob who wasnt involved tells the table Dereck should get £950 and the rest about £550. There was no way we would talk Derek into a more reasonable £700 £650x3 deal, Derek then pulls the i am bored stunt again limping with QQ UTG on my bb andy wakes up with an Ace and raises in SB i fold my 66 derek pops in the old reraise and andy calls
flop would of killed me as it brought both a Q and a 6 but andy disapears on the bubble. Ross (guy who had A8s first hand) and myself quickly get Dereks chips off him finally he got it all it with bottom pair v the 2nd nut straight of ross's, we play on for a little bit untill i get back level in chips and we agree to split, i was tired and although i felt i had an edge felt the i was better off n my bed. I turned down a seat in teh cash and went home for some much needed rest.

The Day i Broke Georges Heart

Wednessday the 30th of July

The day i broke Georges heart.

I had only just sat down at the table and the game was playing 4 handed with superjez about to sit in and deal. George folded preflop TheAdmiral made it his standard £7 it was called by the unknown player in the SB i looked down and saw connecting middling cards with 3 suits (7PLO) so i repopped it, les repops again, sure sign he has a big hand but i was still going to play till the SB folded. I still wanted to play the hand as i have great cards for 7 PLO but niggling in my head was "you cant win an OMAHA hand in the nash preflop its never been done".

So i grab georges attention and break his heart and the record in the nash of no pot ever being won preflop, they only went and rabbit hunted and i would of won but that wasnt the point between us Les and i broke the record. I took grief all night for that with George telling everyone and anyone about it. Matt the doorman who doesnt understand poker told me that he got the story that George was extremmly annoyed and told passerby how i have ruined the cash game, i think he even paid one of the toms standing on the corner of the street to listen to the story, i got so much grief the whole night from George and SuperJez. Atleast George shook my hand as he left. SuperJez refused my hand and has been waiting for this blog post so he can swear at me.

The International Regulars

MONDAY 28TH JULY

Entered the cash game and got bluffed off bottom trips and a broadway straight when the board paired on the turn on the very first hand and TheAdmiral told me to put it in my blogg so there it is i folded a 6 card PLO hand with a possible full house on the board with just a broadway straight and trips.
All the players are asking to get a mention in the blogg so here is a run down of them.
Not all played on the Monday but most play atleast once a week or fortnight.

TheAdmiral AKA Les Clarke

Solid cash game player the most aggressive player in the game he makes it 1/2/7 preflop most hands with a wide range of holdings and very rarely folds preflop

SuperJez AKA Martin

Online pro who boosts his bankroll by regularly turning a profit in the nash's cash game. Currently loved up (hope for us all) and back in his native Glasgow for a few weeks.

TheRock AKA Tommy

frequently folds preflop infact he will fold more often preflop during the night than the rest of the players put together,if he is in the pot be scared be very scared.

The Clam AKA Davie

Davie has a reputation in the comps he will blind out rather than put his chips in behind if he gets chips you need the jaws of life to get them off him again just dont give him chips as he will be involved when the money is paid out if he has them. But in the cash game he is looser than a goose thans just been stuffed for christmas not long ago he got £150 the middle ALL IN, with 1 card to come in with the nut flush draw and no low in a PLO game with a 235 showing in a game of 7 card PLO8 he hit his flush on the river to chop £10 in the middle. Still to work out that though bottom set in HE is a monster in these games its not.

The Bookie AKA George

Passive aggressive is our george you never know which way he is playing from 1 card to the next, suddenly you get reraised from him for another couple of hundred and you know he has atleast ne lot of nuts.

The Pro AKA Euan

When you win a pot vrs him you will be told how lucky you were, and when you lose a pot to him you will be told how badly you played it and how he outplayed you and had a great read on you.

The Engima AKA Steve

Before i joined the cash games i was told he was a rock, He has an intresting game but i wouldnt call him a rock will make alot of moves with 1 side of a 2 board game or 1 side of a HI/LO game will play his draws aggressively often replaying the hand in your head you can work out where you are but often its behind, has a very selective preflop starting range and can fold nealy as often as Tommy preflop but will play alot more than Tommy on a flop. I like Steves game alot and often ask for his opinion on hands that i fold or play.

The Gambler AKA Mr LI

Very dangerous player as he wont let you steal a pot, will play the same way with bottom 2 pair as he does with the nuts, often makes bad calls but means you cant get a steal in with the bare ACE on a flushed board. Mr Li is a player you dread to have on your table in the comp as he is impossible to read and you never know where you are. Fun part of the night is when Mr Li comes in with a list of insults he has read people calling him and other people on hills and stars so we can translate them for him.

The Learner AKA Tosh

Been playing the cash game longer than me but is taking his time in learning properly, has a very solid tourny Holdem game but often looses in the cash with bad calls with 2nd nuts.

These are my honest opinions of the players i may be wrong but know the players know my reads of them they can change there games to make it more profitable for them when there in a hand against me.

Catch Up

MONDAY 14th JULY

Parents were getting carpets fitted on the 15th so to get some sleep i decided to stay in Aberdeen overnight and have a drink on the Monday, problem was that hotels kick out at 12pm so i would get to bed around 6am and then kicked out 6 hours later. I wanted to be able to check in around 5 am and then check out at 5pm, first quote was £150, but John Taylor at the International Casinogot me a deal at the Caremalite hotel for half that. I played in the cash game after the comp and was running bad, i got up to £450 quick from my £200 sit down and did the lot when in a hand of double flop PLO when i flopped the nut flush on one board and top set on the 2nd board. Most of the money went in on the turn when i still had nut flush and top 2 sets on the 2nd board, but i was unable to shift the guy sat with the bottom set on the first board and the 2nd nut straight on the 2nd board. Drink in wits out i move all in on rivers when he hits quads on the first board which meant his straight was now nuts on 2nd board.

I then play a stud Hi/Lo hand showing a 5 with A3d in the hole i manage to get it all in before 4th street against the resident stud Hi/Lo expert on his button who had JJ in the hole with a 6 showing who seemed a little upset with only getting half the pot when i was a very marginal favourite (50.5/49.5) to scoop.

Last hand of the night i was down £200 at start of hand we all put in £5 with no blinds the games PLO double flop 7 card. There was about £200 in the pot preflop and i flop 2 monster draws and think long and hard before re raising the pot bet on the flop, cant remember exactly the hands a little too much drink was had by this stage but i had huge draws and redraws and would finish the night £100 up if i scooped and £500 down if i lost. I hit both turns and he re hit both rivers.

Lost £500

WEDNESDAY 16th JULY

With no cash action on the Tuesday i waited till the Wednesday to get some action i had gone deepish in the comp so the game was running and very juicy when i got there. Infact a couple of us were trying to get out of the comp into the action as soon as we could. I got a real rush of cards quick and it looked like i was bullying especially to the strangers to the game. Hans a Norwegian on his first visit to the game called NLHE on his button with most of the regulars not wanting to play i knew it would be short handed unless they woke up with monsters so i raised with 1 limper before me from LP with 2 regulars behind me with A9. Hans couldn't resist trying to out play me so he called as did the limper. The flop brought me 2 pair AK9 rainbow and i bet out £15 Hans made it £50 i called a rag turn i check called his £90 bet and a rag river and check called his £180 bet his full Wilson was no match for my 2 pair. Hans was beginning to become annoying splashing pots, handling pots, string betting trying to bet £50 into £20 pots etc etc etc he started take 5 minutes each play and making the game boring and annoying. I picked up my chips and apologised and left even though a pro would of sat there rubbing there hands thinking of a good night in the office.

30 minutes later everyone left the game and we started a new game without Hans, Gordon from Belfast stayed and took Hans money off him heads up. The 2nd game didn't last long and then broke up for the night. With not many memorable hands played.

Profit £550

FRIDAY 18th JULY

I left the house late and didn't get to the casino till midnight but there was a free seat and i sat down straight away, nothing memorable happened but i kept getting in and beat money was leaking i don't think i tilted but nothing was going right lost a huge stud Hi/Lo pot when i got in with AA JJ via a hidden set of queens. I recorded my biggest every losing session even though it was a short session.

Lost £750

MONDAY 21st JULY

Couldn't get any action on my big hands and didn't get into many pots spent an enjoyable evening passing chips back and forward nothing major either way and finished the night £29 down including drinks food and tips.

Lost £29

WEDNESDAY 23rd JULY

Unbelievable night, first the game didn't start till 12:30am, TheAdmiral and Mr Li were playing the fruit machine waiting for the game, left when the game started and the next person on the machine dropped £1500 from that machine. The players that did start seemed to hit and run with most leaving at 2am up. TheAdmiral and myself were both down slightly me more than him, rather than go home we played HU for 2 hours with some crazy games, 22 PLO8 was called by me more than once much to the annoyance of Stephen who agreed to deal for us. Chips were going in and coming straight back as most games were split. I finished the night down £95.

Lost £95

FRIDAY 25th JULY

I sat down around 10pm with the game already in full flow, i cashed in £600 into chips with the intention of 2 pull ups of £200 and a sit down of £200. I dropped my chips all over the floor and when i got the the table counted only £575 (found the other £25 chip caught in my wheelchair as i got into my car at end of night) i wasn't paying proper attention as i was trying to sort myself out and only put £150 on the table. Flopped he nuts on the first hand and got TheAdmiral to double me up. I returned the chips to him not long after when i made the 2nd nut flush in a game of 4 card PLO and as he is a tricky player than could play with the bare card i called him and he got £100 of the £150 back.

A hand of real note was PLO double flop when i flopped a set of jacks on the top board and had the bare Kh on the 2nd board which was showing 2 hearts one being the Ah. I made Jacks full of 2s on the top board and the heart hit in the bottom board, holding a 2 in my hand i knew i had the nuts on the top board and when Mike bet into me he had nuts on neither, so my £200 pot bet i expected to get through but Mike thought for a minute or so and called with the 2nd nut flush. the rest of the night seemed to be a game of miss and miss more with not hitting any nut hands or major draws.

The hand of the night didn't evolve me apart from my £2 limp preflop, it was a PLO8 hand flop came down 568 rainbow and it all kicked off with 4 players all in before the turn. 2 having 79 and 23 1 having A23 and another a set and 23. and Ace on the river meant that the A23 hand got allot less than he could/should of with the 79 hands getting the lion share.

Lost £120 (thought it was £145 till i found the £25 chip)

expensive lessons being learnt in the cash games but i am still in profit for the last 6 weeks. Hope to get back into the winning ways on Monday.

Friday Night

I was really struggling to get the energy to drive the 90 mins through to the game at 10:30pm I got a text asking why I wasn't there I told them I would be there at midnight and promptly left. As I arrived 2 players were leaving so I got a seat straight away. Its a 1/2 game with a minimum sit down of £100 most people buy in for £100 and when they bust they top up with £100. I normally sit with £200 and did so again tonight with a few pull up in my wallet in chips and cash.

First Hand of Note

The game is very lively and without anything remarkable I got up to £400 when the game of 5 card PLO single flop was chosen by TheAdmiral (blonde member), its usual in this game for a raise to £7 called in all spots with most people seeing the flop this hand was strange as TheAdmiral made it £7 the SB called I reraised to £25 with AA662ds aces all the early limpers would normally call but only TheAdmiral and SB called a flop of AT6 all diamonds wast the best of flops and i wanted to get a free turn card but knew it was unlikely the SB moves all in for £53 I wanted to isolate or get it all in there as Theadmiral had me covered. I made a huge mistake in not betting the pot I just made it £150 to play, it was called and the 2 of clubs on the turn was the worst card I could of seen. When I checked and got raised I passed with £190 back as there was only 3 tens 2 twos 1 six and an ace to hit, I knew I played the hand badly and quickly recouped my composure only for a T to hit the river and the admiral took down the whole pot with Q7d via the sb 53d.

Second Hand of Note

Very next hand is 6 card PLO double flop and its £25 to me in the sb with suited low cards with 3 callers already and 2 more behind me ready to call, I called the bet flop 1 came down 468h flop 2 came down QJ4c. I checked with the intention of folding to a bet I knew I had low flushes without looking at my cards and knew they were no good the reraise preflop made it £91 all in and I checked my cards while everyone else folded I looked and saw the 53h and 82c shit I thought nearly a straight flush but as I fanned my cards out in my hand I spotted the 7h as well, now I thought I was likely the All in had a better flush in clubs so I wanted one of the 2 players behind to come in so flat called, but they didn't oblige so I said I think its a split after 2 blanks hit on turn and river the other guy looked at me strange as he had both Aces but no other club and had hit top trips on the club side so my straight flush had beaten his Ace high flush and my 8 flush had taken the other board so I had gotten back the chips I had thrown away the previous hand.

Third Hand of Note

The next notable hand was playing 6 PLO single flop again on TheAdmirals button. I had not much of a hand pre but the 345 2 diamond flop looked pretty with my A6d with a 2 for the 2nd nuts straight with improvers, i was missing a 7, anyway the turn was seen by myself and TheAdmiral there was already over £200 in the pot, a 7 came on the turn which was about as perfect as it could get but i was still scared of the board pairing and also though if i bet the pot he would call with the 68 letting me free roll to the diamond (unless he did have outs to the boat) it was folded though and I took another nice pot.

Fourth Hand of Note

The next hand of note was a PLO8 hand (always single flops for HI/LO) on a QT8 2 club flop I wasn't the bothered with my top set and wasn't going to get too committed on flop hoping to see a cheap turn which was achieved with everyone checking it round. The turn brought an off suited 2 and I checked again a push for £60 from the guy (£1 left) 2 too my left was called in 3 spots it gave me the odds to call (hadn't put anyone on the straight as they would of bet out on flop) with the board ready very draw heavy I didn't want to get carried away as every wrapper low and flush draw would call and there would be so many bullets to dodge the guy behind me also called and 6 of us saw the turn which was a lovely 2 but a £100 bet on river got no action not even from the guy with £1 left I was still happy with the pot and how it played as I got paid the odds without putting my stack at risk.

Final Hand of the Night

The final hand 7 card PLO single of the night saw me flop the 2nd nut flush draw which was checked round, and hit bottom set on the turn as it was last hand of night everyone puts in £5 pre so when I called a turn bet there was over £200 in the pot the river hit my flush but I wasn't prepared to bet it even though I would have expected the nut flush draw to bet the flop, I thought I was good and was prepared to call down a bet on river I didn't want to bet out and face a reraise it was checked down and my 2nd nut flush took it down.

profit for night £650

Comedy Hand of the Night

A hand I am trying to forget, it was PLO double flop I was last to act on the flop and bet out £40 with 2 pair on both boards and a wrapper straight on one of the flops. I was check raised by the player on my left. for another £53, For some strange reason (brain fart) I called thinking I was behind on one if not both boards. But I scooped both pots without improving in fact on the flop where I had the wrappers thE board pair counterfeiting my 2 pair but I still won both pots.

Anyone of my Shareholders want to tell me what a prat I was in any of the hands please feel free

It started as a joke on a day when staking for live events was being debated on blonde. Snoopy put up a post on the wsope,

I would love to play this event but know that a 5th in a Blackpool £300 PLO event on my first live experience of the game was not the sort of pedigree I need for stumping up £5500 to play a game again Europe's and the worlds best player so made this post.

Quote from: Ironside on July 04, 2008, 06:39:41 PM
OK i am selling shares in myself

for the PLO

i will sell 1% at £75

i am willing to sell 65% of myself

my ev to the field is about -245%

any person willing to buy a share

should send me a PM following the PM make a call to your GP and get a referral to the local shrink

thanks for the shares

I am glad boldie thought it was the funniest thing I have ever written I put allot of effort into it. But then AndrewT posted he wanted a share and encouraged more to jump on the bandwagon, tighty came in, and so did jakally, even flushy offered up 0.1% he later changed that for 2%. Then a man whom I though better of Julian "yoyo" Thew asked for 1% and tikay (I think the Alzheimer's is kicking in).

To me it seemed that it might be worth seeing if i could drum up enough interest. so I said if enough interest was around by this weekend I would set up diary

I intend to get a blog going today and also update this thread cause some insane bidding by blondes has seen the stakes rises to over 20% and I had to knock back actionmans 0.01% as it would get messy sorting out the 75pence's.

The pledge I have given is that IF I make the money and get less that £7500 I would give everyone there money back before i get a penny. I will keep an honest and frank diary and blog up till and including the event.
I can only put up £1000 out of my own pocket + £1000 that it will cost me in expenses so to make it worthwhile for me to play (keeping 35%) I need to mark the shares up at £75 meaning I will need to sell 60% of myself to make it a runner anyone that has pledge to stake me will get a link on my blog to a personal web page or blog (if they wish) anyone wishing to withdraw from there pledge please let me know now or as soon as you get back from your visit to the shrink.

these are the list stakers

2%
redsimon
Royal Flush
MKKfish

1%
AndrewT
TightEnd
jakally
julian
tikay
Indestructable
AlexMartin
Compo
jezza777
77dave
b4matt
LLevan
ericstoner
crosscourtbh
Bigfella
Woodsey
Dewi_cool
Ecosse
Geo the Sarge
Delboy
phatomch
SuperJez

0.5%
Hairydude
boldie
kinboshi
Silo Graham
ripple11
inthebelly
Tractor

0.3%
Claw75
HOLDorFOLD

0.1%
booder
mondatoo
Supernova
Sunday8pm
Tonji
moanster

I make that 32.7% (will update IF any more is added)
people can stake as little as £7.50 for 0.1%

Thank you all for your support and look forward to updating you on the progress soon (or the cancellation as the whole of the blonde forum wakes up)
